Every two years, we choose a charity as our Chosen Charity to which we dedicate all our fundraising activity. We have supported a number of charities, both local and national, since starting our Chosen Charity scheme, including:
We have raised thousands of pounds for each of these charities through various fundraising events, such as our Annual Charity Golf Competition. This is an important date in our fundraising calendar for local businesses and others in the Fenland and Norfolk communities to join us in raising money for fantastic causes. As a result, we have been able to see first-hand the difference donations such as ours can make to people in our local community.
At Christmas we also donate money traditionally used for corporate gifts to charities who support those who are homeless in the local area. These include:
Our current Chosen Charity is Little Miracles, a charity which supports families who have children with additional needs, disabilities, and life-limiting conditions. Since April 2024, money raised at our fundraising events, such as our Big Quiz, has been donated to Little Miracles to help fund activities, training, and trips for the children they support, as well as their families and carers.
Neil John from Fraser Dawbarns presents Krista Dolmane and Louise Evans from Little Miracles with a cheque for the funds raised at the 2024 Fraser Dawbarns Charity Golf Day.
This Christmas, we are supporting Little Miracles' Christmas Toy Appeal. The charity aims to collect 6,000 gifts for children they support across Norfolk and Cambridgeshire. Little Miracles is looking for sealed presents including: board games, books, sensory and musical toys, dolls and baby toys, and arts and crafts gifts.
We will be collecting gifts across all our offices until Monday 16th December.
From July 2023, we have partnered with the Alzheimer's Society as part of their free Will scheme, Will to Remember. The charity estimates that by 2025, 1 million people will be living with dementia in the UK, and many millions more carers, partners, families and friends will be affected. The Will to Remember scheme offers supporters of the charity the opportunity to write a simple Will for free with a local, participating solicitor.
We are delighted to be involved in this partnership with Alzheimers' Society, who vow to help end the devastation caused by dementia through dedicated support and research into life-changing treatments.
