Fraser Dawbarns has successfully brought a personal injury claim for a local man, after he fell and fractured his ankle in a Norfolk leisure venue caused by a stairway being poorly lit. Fortunately, he had private health cover, was treated very quickly and effectively and his ankle healed well. He brought a claim to ensure that he was not financially out of pocket for the time that he was off work after the accident, and to recoup the costs of his private medical treatment.
The injured man’s lawyer was personal injury specialist Neil John. He adds: “The majority of the personal injury claims we bring on behalf of local people relate either to injuries obtained during a workplace accident or a traffic collision. Sometimes, as in this case, an injury is incurred on someone else’s premises where we can bring a ‘public liability’ claim if the proprietor has not taken all the appropriate steps to keep visitors to their premises safe. Unfortunately, not all businesses are as careful as they should be about ensuring their premises are health and safety compliant and people are injured as a result, often because someone falls or slips on a surface that hasn’t been properly maintained.”
